JOIN OUR MARINE DEPARTMENT IN CHENNAI
The Marine Department of COWI, India is undertaking projects from both international and domestic markets and offers a comprehensive range of consulting services related to the development of ports, harbours, coastal and marine structures etc. COWI Marine department is supporting their clients to draw a detailed picture of any consequences on the built and natural environment arising from the development/installation of any port, marine, coastal project.
A POSITION THAT WILL PUSH YOUR DEVELOPMENT FURTHER
In this position, you will join our global team of experts and work closely with Head of Marine, your primary task in our team will be to manage complex multi-disciplinary marine projects, starting from proposal preparation, client management, interface management within disciplines and management of sub consultants
On a day-to-day basis you will:
Prepare technical and financial proposals for various opportunities marine, Port, Harbour and Coastal engineering projects
Be responsible for the financial performance of the projects and monitor it using internal tools to ensure profitability
Lead individual structural design teams both for Indian and International projects
Be involved in preparation of Pre-feasibility, feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports, bid document preparation and selection of contractors while working for Owners/developers
Carry out tender, basic and detailed design of Port, Harbour & Marine structures with associated landside facilities, while working for EPC contractors
Perform Independent Engineer services, while working for Owner/Developers, EPC contractors and Lender Institutions.
Delegate, supervise and co-ordinate design activities within the team and with other design teams located in remote locations

Furthermore, you shall:
Hold a M.Tech in Civil Engineering/Marine Structures from reputed institute with 12+ years of experience in Port & Harbour and Marine structures
Have 5-7 years’ experience as a Project Manager / Task Manager for multi-disciplinary marine projects
Have Basic knowledge of other inter-related disciplines like geotechnical engineering, material handling, Mechanical and Electrical design including piping, civil infrastructure like roads, drainage, etc,
Have good theoretical knowledge in Structural Engineering. Also, you have good knowledge in design of variety of marine structures like Jetties, Berths, Dolphins, design of bulk & container yards and associated onshore facilities.
Be well versed with structural analysis software like STAAD Pro, SAP, ROBOT, ABACUS, Sofistik etc. Experience in Parametric design for marine structures will be an added advantage.
Have basic working knowledge of 3D BIM tools like Tekla Steel and Tekla RC, REVIT, CIVIL 3D, etc.
Be able to prepare design spread sheets and have knowledge of working with Indian and International codes (IS, BS, EURO and API etc.)
