As a Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and security of our organization’s databases. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the database system, ensuring its performance, availability, and security. Your expertise will contribute to the smooth operation of our business-critical data and applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement database solutions based on the organization’s requirements
• Ensure data security, integrity, and availability
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues
• Optimize database systems for maximum performance
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery operations
• Install and upgrade database software and patches
• Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and solutions
• Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize SQL queries
• Create and maintain documentation for database systems
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations
• Manage access permissions and privileges
• Conduct capacity planning and resource optimization
• Provide technical support and guidance to users
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
• Implement and enforce security measures and policies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role
• Solid understanding of database management systems
• Proficiency in SQL and database design
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization
• Familiarity with backup and recovery processes
• Knowledge of data security and encryption
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities
• Certification in database administration is a plus
• Experience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is an advantage
• Understanding of networking and storage technologies
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
• Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in database administration
