Your team:
The Murex Change the Bank team provides operational and trade enhancements for the Murex platform. This platform supports desks trading Interest Rate Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Commodities, Fixed Income, FX Options and Fixed Income products as well as supporting Group Treasury services. The platform also supports the end-to-end services required for trading including Risk Management, Product Control and Market Operations. The team works closely with the business as well as development and project teams delivering into the Murex platform. The team also works closely with other operational support teams across the bank.
Your impact and contribution:
The main focus of this role is to provide functional and technical expertise for the Murex platform and related systems. You will interact with the business and investigate, troubleshoot, enhance and release change in the system. Issues or requests may be related to the Murex configuration or related to data within the system or related to feeds and interfaces from or to the platform. A knowledge of supporting and related systems will be developed over time. You will work on incidents, problems, changes and small work requests – investigating potential solutions and developing/ documenting/ testing permanent fixes. At times you may work with project teams including secondments to those teams if required.
You will work within the frameworks utilised across the bank to support service management operations. This will include following the Incident, Problem, Change and Service request processes employed by the team and used across IB&M Service Management (closely follow ITIL framework).
Your reporting lines:
This position reports to the Murex Technical Delivery Lead. With the role part of the umbrella IB&M Change Management team.
Your responsibilities:
Within this role you are required to
Adhere to the Code of Conduct . The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behavior, actions and decisions we expect from our people.
Design, document, configure and test new products on the Murex platform to meet business specifications.
Follow bank service operations processes including the logging of tickets within MyService or ticketing systems (processes follow ITIL)
Investigate and resolve issues raised by customers within the context of the Murex platform
Propose, design, document and implement approaches to improve/automate processes for configuring and testing the end to end Murex environment.
Be able to gather and document business requirements, and design and develop solutions within an agreed timeframe, adhering to the Banks Solution Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) process and documentation framework.
Work with project managers, projects and other developers to enhance and support the Murex platform.
Contribute to the technical design and implementation of the interfaces required by all applications in the team’s portfolio.
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support where appropriate as well as escalate and manage issue resolution with the Murex vendor.
Communicate the status of tasks to stakeholders in a proactive way.
Follow release and change processes in the compilation and distribution of software builds and releases to development and test environments.
Work within a team environment to complete associated tasks.
Provide cross training to other colleagues where required.
Your skills and experience:
Risk Mindset –All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
Tertiary qualification in technology or significant IT experience achieved in a work environment.
5+ years’ experience in Capital Markets coupled with strong domain knowledge of Capital Markets environments and particularly of products such as Interest Rate Derivatives, Futures, Securities, Commodities, FX Options. Backoffice and Murex post trade workflow expertise is essential. Integration expertise (Exchange workflow) is desirable. Certifications such as CFA or FRM will be considered favourably.
