Enterprise Services (ES) is responsible for the world leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank, from innovative product platforms for our customers to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team in delivering one of the largest ION installations in the southern hemisphere. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across all aspects of the platform. You will have the opportunity to interact directly with trading desks, and to make your mark by automating and improving our deployment process. Whilst the role will focus on deployment of vendor products, there are also many opportunities for software development.
Your Responsibilities:
This person will be rounding out our Ion team, which delivers our Fixed Income and Rates platform
With the development team, assist in the configuration, development and promotion of Ion components through the different environments
Optimise topologies and improve performance across distributed regions
Implement enterprise level controls around monitoring, security, disaster recovery and release management
Manage the release process and represent at approval boards
Provide support to the operations team and liaise with the vendor for issues and fixes
Contribute to the agile team culture, through promotion of test automation, continuous deployment and scrum best practice
Requirements:
Experienced ION developer with programming and scripting experience.
Experience with Ion vendor components essential (5+ years). This should extend to pricing, markets, transaction processing, front ends and server side components.
Familiarity with Unix based environments and ability to work with shell scripts
Experience in java development is desirable. There are many opportunities to support and enhance custom written components
Direct experience with trading desks, particularly for Australian markets, is desirable
Experience with automation and build tools is desirable
