SVP Retirement & Benefits Governance, Asia Pacific (C14)
Reporting to the Regional Head, Benefits & Wellness, APAC the role requires a seasoned benefits professional that can apply in-depth disciplinary knowledge and contribute to the development of processes and workflow across the benefits function. The role holder will be able to demonstrate specific focus and experience in monitoring retirement plan governance and controls across multiple APAC markets.
Working in partnership with APAC Country Benefits teams the role requires in-depth understanding of how retirement plans are designed, setup and managed across multiple APAC markets, including keeping up to date on new regulatory developments and market offerings.
The role holder is expected to be able to build a strong working relationship with scheme Trustees, Foundations, CHROs, CCOs and advisors with a view to developing APAC pensions governance structure.
Deliverables
APAC Retirement Pensions Advisory Board for all APAC retirement schemes (circa 42 plans), including preparing papers, recommending, and monitoring actions and deliverables
Support Hong Kong retirement review project ensuring appropriate governance and controls, milestone tracking and third-party vendor management are in place. Propose options to simplify Hong Kong retirement delivery model (ORSO and MPF)
Monitor and review APAC retirement scheme covenants, funding and investment arrangements, escalating risks where appropriate
Deploy pension change management in countries where required, e.g. to respond to changing regulation or plan restructuring. Manage liability exit in countries for certain legacy pension arrangements (including transfer outs as part of GCB sale process)
Maintain compliance with pensions legislation, regulation, and compliance issues as appropriate
Support the APAC Country Benefits teams on Medical and life assurance and risk benefits programs, making recommendations on implementation of global and regional priorities
Partner with global benefits team to deploy resiliency policies R3 Sabbaticals, Adoption, Surrogacy and other priority programs
Manage APAC WTW benefits survey submissions and benchmarking of APAC benefits plans
Support wider APAC Totals Rewards programs and deliverables as requested by Regional Head of Benefits and Wellness
Support RFPs and vendor selection processes that enhance, simplify, and automate benefits programs across APAC
Involved in coaching and training of benefits team members across the region
Qualifications: Strong experience in a relevant or similar role Ideally Actuarial or Pensions Management qualified or other relevant pension qualification Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel Ability to meet deadlines while dealing with multiple priorities. Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in one or more APAC languages + English
