THE JOB ENTAILS WORKING WITH VARIOUS PARTNERS ACROSS BE FINANCE, SALES & SERVICE FINANCE(SSF) AND CORP FP&A, IN SAN JOSE AND OTHER LOCATIONS TO gather REQUIREMENTS, ADVISE THEM OF INTERDEPENDENCIES AND IMPACTS, PROCESS RE-DESIGN(AS NEEDED), BUILD AND TESTING THROUGH REPORTING AND ADOPTION, ETC. YOU SHOULD HAVE THE ABILITY TO CONNECT ALL THE DOTS, AND LEAD EFFORTS FOR THEIR TRACK WHICH WOULD OFTEN BE PART OF A LARGER BUSINESS INITIATIVE. EFFECTIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH MULTIPLE PARTNER GROUPS AND SENIOR/EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT IS REQUIRED ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS. YOU WILL: ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FINANCIAL METRICS FOR CISCO IS THE GROSS MARGIN. THE CANDIDATE WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE, AND RESPONSIBLE FOR running GROSS MARGIN WALK REPORTING COMPANYWIDE. PROVIDE LEADERSHIP FOR FINANCIAL ANALYTICS PROJECTS AND ENSURING STRONG CONTROLS, GOVERNANCE AND DELIVERY OF REPORTING AND INSIGHTS. ENSURE STRONG PARTNER RELATIONSHIPS ARE MAINTAINED, DEVELOPING CADENCE FOR COMMUNICATION AND INTERACTION. ARTICULATE AND HANDLE THE BUSINESS IMPACTING VS OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND SETTING PRIORITIZATIONS. CLOSELY COLLABORATING WITH THE OTHER INITIATIVES / TRACK OWNERS HANDLING INTERDEPENDENCIES successfully. WORK WITH FINANCE IT AND EDW TEAMS TO DELIVER CRITICAL REPORTING CAPABILITIES ON TIME. MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE PERFORMANCE METRICS OF YOUR PROJECT. ENSURE THE INITIATIVES MEET THE INVESTMENT REQUIREMENTS AND HAVE ACCEPTABLE QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN PLACE TO MEET THE QUALITY AND CONTROL REQUIREMENTS. MAINTAIN REPORTING CADENCE FOR OVERALL TRACK STATUS TO SENIOR MANAGER AND EXECUTIVE TEAM, PEERS, AND OTHER BUSINESS PARTNERS ON A CONSISTENT BASIS. THE IDEAL PERSON WILL BE HANDS-ON, HIGHLY EXECUTION-FOCUSED, AND AN ACE IN FINANCIAL DATA ANALYSIS AND REPORTING, WITH EXPERIENCE TO BACK IT. TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU SHOULD: YOU HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING OF HOW CISCO’S FINANCE ORGANIZATION WORKS YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO LEAD PARTNERS EFFECTIVELY, STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF OUR FUNCTIONS, YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO TRANSLATE BUSINESS NEEDS TO OUR IT PARTNERS AS DELIVERING CAPABILITIES, IS KEY FOR YOU IN THIS ROLE. MBA FINANCE FROM A CREDIBLE INSTITUTION IS A PLUS. SOLID UNDERSTANDING OF GROSS MARGIN WALK CONCEPTS AND ABILITY TO REPORT AND ANALYZE DIFFERENCES IN GROSS MARGIN BY SALES REGIONS AND PRODUCT HIERARCHIES FROM ONE TIME PERIOD TO ANOTHER GIVEN VARIANCES IN CONTRIBUTING FACTORS SUCH AS PRICE, VOLUME, MIX, ETC DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF KEY FINANCIAL METRICS SUCH AS BOOKINGS, REVENUE, COGS, GROSS MARGIN, P&L, OPEX, DEFERRED REVENUE, ACCRUALS, ETC., WITH UNDERSTANDING OF CISCO’S PRODUCT AS WELL AS SERVICES (CX) BUSINESS AND DIFFERENT HIERARCHICAL VIEWS BASED ON SALES AS WELL AS PRODUCT (BE) HIERARCHIES.
