Job Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Serve as the primary contact between Caterpillar and the supply base.
Strategic sourcing & Supplier Development – Regional Categories (Specialty and Fabrication)
Conduct commercial discussions and negotiations with suppliers.
Support for strategic sourcing- qualified supply network, business continuity, supplier risk management – capacity & financial, logistics, common agreements, supplier commercial negotiations, cost/spend management.
Optimize lead/response time and make resource management decisions.
Perform continuous improvement initiatives and new product introduction activities within purchasing.
Recognizing the potential for cost and inventory reductions, and quality improvement, as well as ensure sound business proposals and risk assessment.
Drive performance excellence in QCLDM through direct leverage with the supply base partnering with Supplier Development Professional (SDP) personnel and Product/Facility Procurement organizations.
Participate on 6 Sigma strategic sourcing teams to develop an understanding of the current performance of the supply network, evaluate strategic options, decide a course of action, and begin implementation.
Collaborate with Supplier Development Engineers, to ensure continuous improvement in QCLDM with key suppliers.
Build and foster mutually beneficial supplier relationships at all organizational level.
Compliance – legal, regulatory, process & data.
BACKGROUND /EXPERIENCE :
A bachelor’s degree in from an accredited college or university in Engineering / Technology.
2- 5 yrs of experience in the respective field.
Proficiency in English
Incumbent must have well-developed communication skills and Analytical Skills.

Travel:
The position requires travel, sometimes 25% to 50% of working time.
