About this role
Development role with hands on software coding ,design support and delivery support.
Develop Java code for customer requirements.
Work with Designers to prove the requirement works
Test driven development -design and implementation.
Align to dev-ops paradigm. Support system function in test and production.
Be a Team player ensures delivery on committed time.
You’ll have the following responsibilities

To have an awareness of BT’s Environmental Policy sufficiently to understand the relevant aspects of the policy in relation to your work e.g. recycling
To design high quality software components according to the specifications provided ensuring use of key design patterns and effective reuse. The components designed should be:
Be familiar with standard design notations (such as UML) so that they are able to clearly articulate their designs.
Be familiar with the software lifecycle and engineering approach as it applies to the XML Gateway team and documented in “The Way We Work”.
Be familiar with the evolving security requirements ensuring that designs created and the design patterns adopted align with the latest security requirements.
Drive the SDK approach taken by BT and the potential for re-use of components and services that this may allow.

Experience in designing requirements for Java based application
Should have strong analytical and debugging skills.
Basics of Java or web-based application.
Should be thorough with unit testing concepts.
Should be ready to work in a team that follows TDD (test driven development) at its heart.
Must be a team-player mind-set. Candidate should be able to perform task that is best suited for the team.
Go-getter. Should be able to find some way out to problems when a direction is given.
Candidate should be ready to adapt pair-programming and agile practices of team.
Basic understanding of XML and XSD is a must.
Collaborate with business, partners and vendors and develop a cadence to ensure alignment of projects and priorities
Facilitating the execution of IT service by ensuring the quality, completeness, tracking and reporting of work items as they flow between participants in key business processes
Ensure the teams have the resources, tools, processes, discipline, and capacity necessary to execute upon the agreed projects, priorities, and SLAs
Ensure that various E2E quality gates are followed and audit with the individual component /Test teams
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Typically works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.
Prioritises and organises own work to deliver to agreed deadlines.
Able to present information clearly and in an appropriate style to make technical information clear.
Able to contribute actively to team activities, sharing experience and ideas.
Proficiency with project management tools like Excel, Jira, DoT.
