Position Purpose
Coordinate agile scrum activities including releases – managing timelines, resolving impediments and coach team members on Agile methodologies
Responsibilities
Manage scope and timeline
Ensure goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team
Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups
Coach team members in Agile frameworks
Work with Scrum Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making
Incorporate techniques for effective Product Backlog management
Ensure the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value
Help the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items
Prioritize stories during Sprint Planning meetings to meet the needs of users
Define and facilitate estimation of story points
Coach the development team in self-organization and cross-functionality ensuring creation of high-value products
Remove impediments to the development team’s progress
Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint
Define KPIs, collect and analyze data to track and continuously improve the sprint deliverables
Plan and coordinate releases with internal and external stakeholders
Guide team to high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques
Help build a productive environment where team members ‘own’ the product
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Experience in a scrum master role in software development projects
Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques
Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
Outstanding organizational skills
Specific Qualifications (if required)
Certification in agile methodologies preferred (CSM, ACP, SaFE Agile)
