Overview
Bechtel has a long tradition of technical and engineering excellence in supporting multiple industries. Bechtel’s internship program was created to cultivate real-life industry interest based on hands-on experience. Many new university graduate hires began their careers at Bechtel as a student intern.
Process Engineering Interns work in multi-disciplinary teams and provide support to the design of large-scale chemical manufacturing facilities and related processes.
The total number of interns and start dates are subject to workload and business conditions. Locations will vary based on project needs and may include Houston, TX, Reston, VA, or various project sites.
General Job Duties
Process Engineering Interns may be responsible for:
determining the sequence of operations and the selection of equipment and operating conditions required to convert a feedstock into products
generating Process Flow Diagrams, Heat and Material Balances and Process Datasheets
designing the Relief System
supporting disciplines to ensure that process design intent is maintained throughout the work of the downstream design disciplines
Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering at an accredited college or university
Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in one of the above fields
Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project job sites
Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without visa sponsorship, now or in the future
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Preferred Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree program in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering at an accredited college or university
Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
Excellent written and oral communication skills
