This is an excellent opportunity for a Software QA Manager to work on the Cloud to Cloud Backup and Barracuda Backup Service product in the Data Protection Division.

With a focus on data security and integrity, our protection platform facilitates the transfer of terabytes worth of data during all hours of the day. Our ability to manage millions of data objects across several different data providers offers a unique and challenging experience.

You will be working in a small team environment that follows an iterative development process through planning, coding, testing and deployment. We use the latest technologies to quickly solve for different challenges.

What you’ll be working on

Collaborate with product management and engineering regarding release planning, and project requirements for testing
Analyze and optimize processes to gain efficiency, productivity, and consistency within the team
Understand many product components and able to break down and direct work tasks as it relates to software testing
Work with team members to come up with test plans, test suites, automation framework approach
Collect and report on metrics
Guide engineering team to build quality in the product
Able to perform Test Automation and set up framework on multiple platforms and maintain it
Mentor junior team members
Manage builds in QA environment and CI/CD pipeline
Assess impact and/or risk of requirements and provide feedback to product management
Mentor other team members for growth, leadership, and problem-solving opportunities
Manage the activities of your team with responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing
Provide regular, ongoing feedback on employee performance
Create development plans for employees, and coach employees to meet developmental goals
Identify training opportunities for team and self for continuing education
Make recommendations on promotional opportunities and/or performance improvement plans
Resolve conflicts and/or take disciplinary action when needed/appropriate
Recruit, conduct interviews, hire, and onboard new employees

What you bring to the role

5+ years of relevant experience in software engineering
2+ years of experience in a technical leadership or supervisory role
Experience in a full project testing life cycle including test case creation, script development, manual testing, black box testing, and regression testing
Automated testing skills and experience using any automated testing tool
Experience in Relational databases
Experience in any automation frameworks and common testing practices in highly agile environment
Defect management tools such as JIRA
Passion for testing and delivering high quality solutions
Track record of mentorship
Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a high-energy environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice to haves

Experience working in a Linux environment
Experience working in Azure DevOps
Experience with Docker
Experience with Kubernetes
Code version control using Git or similar
Familiarity with build tools such as Jenkins
