Introduction:
As part of the “International Settlements systems” improvements defined jointly with Upstream and several optimization and business changes to take on additional testing responsibilities. This is considered particularly important in the current phase of the transformations during which a number of new flows and functional changes will be going live. The “Way Forward” roles will be key to support the migrations / decommissions as well as ensure the Programme is able to successfully support to BAU. This role is for a Software developer in test to work within this “Way Forward” team.
What will you be doing?
Create and own a test strategy, approach and plan.
Create and maintain test automation packs for the Application/s
Facilitate working groups with business stakeholders, IT teams and the Utility Vendor, to agree test coverage is agreed and executed.
Test status reporting, providing visibility on status against milestones, and transparency of risks and issues.
Facilitate defect reviews and ensure that severity and priority are agreed and communicated.
Work with the process teams to ensure full product / process test coverage and ensure that the financials (i.e. netting, fails, repair volumes) are also considered / tested
Engage with Bank-side downstream teams to ensure that the necessary testing is undertaken and there is no adverse impact downstream post migrations.
Work with the Bank-side side teams to agree the Bank’s post implementation operating model and validate this during testing.
Work with third party teams to identify defect solutions / workarounds.
Assist with production readiness in terms of training.
Communicate regularly in forums to ensure all parties are kept informed and participate in broader Programme sessions.
Actively assess and manage risks; remove or reduce barriers towards realising goals, ensuring mitigating actions are in place.
Create communication materials for the Programme and senior level stakeholders.
What we’re looking for:
Engineering Degree (or equivalent)
Hands-on coding skills with Java, PL/SQL for Oracle, Unix shell scripting, gherkins / Cucumber.
Ability to develop and enhance java based test automation frameworks / familiar with one or more of the following frameworks: Junit, testNG, WinAppDriver.
Capable of providing automated solutions involving REST API, autosys jobs, automated test management reporting (JIRA x-ray), multi-threading.
Good debugging skills from UNIX log & trace to find root cause of job failures
Independently manage SOIT Testing, various ongoing requests, environment availability for upcoming demands & managing expectations of global stakeholders
Coordinate with business & users to understand project requirements, support in different UAT phases and debug & resolve issues
Confident, able to communicate and negotiate at all levels
Able to multi-task and prioritize
A proactive, self-starter, who is can be relied upon to act on initiative
Challenge status quo; ability to interpret business requirements into a tangible plan and spot inconsistencies
Ability to manage diverse stakeholder requirements and demands, and successfully negotiate a goal that achieves the best outcome for the Bank
Able to balance structure & best practice versus pragmatism
Strong commercial awareness and thinking
Skills that will help you in the role:
Strong knowledge of trade flow & settlements domain
Large scale multi-year system transformation programme experience
Perl and python knowledge is added advantage.
Working knowledge of tools like Ant, Maven, Jenkins, TeamCity, Git-Hub, Sonar, Nolio, autoIT.
Cross border / multi geography project delivery experience
Partnering with vendors and management of third party resources
