The role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our strategic partnerships function within Digital Technology (DT). As the vendor analyst, you will support the end-to-end process of delivering the latest technical software applications to Arup’s global user base. This will include liaising with vendors to establish good relationships, supporting testing of newly released applications, liaison with the software packaging and deployment team, and reporting on usage data. You will play a key role in ensuring Arup’s global user community has robust and timely access to the latest software and is using it in the most effective way.
You’ll join a global team with a range of skills and experiences and will work closely with many other functions across DT, as well as the wider company. The role will report into the strategic partnership’s manager who is based in Newcastle, England.

Responsibilities of the role include:
Working closely with the software packaging team to determine schedules for new software releases and undertake UAT and quality testing for new package releases to the engineering community
Liaising with Arup technical subject matter experts and technical support team
Building relationships with Vendor support teams, raising issues, and following up when required
Proactively maintain and communicate the vendor software release schedule
Monitoring workload queues and actioning all requests in a timely manner, seeking guidance when appropriate
Preparing software usage reports, using data from Arup systems, to support best practice usage guidance
Sharing, adopting, and developing best practice for testing, deployment and reporting processes
Contributing to reports and other documentation, along with ad-hoc administrative and data entry tasks
Supporting the team/group/discipline at meetings
Requirements and skills
Essential skills and knowledge:
Self-motivated, with the ability to manage your own time and workload in line with business priorities
Aptitude for data analysis processing and problem-solving
Good attention to detail
Commitment to personal development within the role
Desirable:
Working knowledge of technical software applications including Autodesk, Bentley, Tekla and ESRI
Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyse and visualise data in PowerBi
Knowledge of C#, C++ PowerShell, Python and SQL
