The role
We have an exciting opportunity for a data quality analyst to join our team. In this role you will ensure data quality dimensions including accuracy, completeness, credibility and availability are maintained for Arup Data Services (ADS) to the highest standard. You will join the data platforms team that provides database support and data services to Arup and play a key role in the delivery of a number of technically challenging projects.
The team is geographically dispersed and the role reports into the service leader who is based in the UK.

The responsibilities of this role include:
Supporting the Arup data quality governance board by ensuring ADS is complying with guidance and standards
Engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify the root cause of data quality issues
Agreeing data quality rules with data owners/data stewarts
Tracking, managing, communicating, and resolving data quality issues across data platforms.
Collaborating with others to investigate complex data problems
Ensuring that data quality policy, standards, and processes are continually reviewed and improved according to best practice, stakeholder feedback, and organisational demands
Supporting setting up a data quality framework and processes for our core data to ensure the ongoing accuracy and reliability of our data
Analysing the data estate to find opportunities for improvement
Working with large data sets including identification and correction of inconsistencies
Coaching colleagues on data quality best practices
Contribute to the build and maintenance of the data catalogue
Conduct investigations into data flows and data lineage
Producing workable estimates and to deliver to these estimates
Requirements and skills
Essential skills and knowledge:
At least 3 years’ experience in a data support role dealing with troubleshooting and pro-active monitoring of data feeds
Solid understanding of data quality concepts; experience of managing, controlling, reporting data quality and integrity
Relevant technical knowledge spanning data quality/profiling techniques and an understanding of data governance
Experience contributing to or supporting extract load and transform[SDWS1] processes
Experience playing a leading role in a data centric project or team
Extensive stakeholder management experience
