Full Job Description
Working for an accounts team for a busy manufacturing group.
The day to day duties of an Accounts/Payroll Assistant role would include;
Responsible for Company Credit card expense processing, including: – • Issuing monthly statements to cardholders
Administer weekly and monthly payrolls ensuring reasonableness and accuracy for c. 400+ employees across 6 different companies (monthly currently via SD Worx, weekly currently using Northgate Arinso software).
Responsible for verifying and posting payroll journal entries to general ledger.
Responsible for processing of company benefits in accordance with company procedures.
Responsible for Petty Cash, including: – including foreign currency
Responsible for maintaining companies cash book and bank reconciliations.
Assisting both internal/external auditors during audits, if required.
Collating information for the Financial Controller for the company’s benefit schemes (PHI, Life Assurance, Pension Scheme, etc.)
Experience of preparing VAT, Intrastat & EC sales lists would be an advantage, but not essential.
Purchase ledger experience would be useful, but not essential.
To be considered for our Accounts/Payroll Assistant role you will need to have;
Qualified (or working towards) AAT or similar qualification preferred.
Previous accounts/payroll experience required. Dealing with multiple payrolls within a Manufacturing environment would be a distinct advantage.
Strong command of current accounts/payroll legislation and pension administration.
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
Able to organise and prioritise work.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient with computers including spreadsheets (‘intermediate user’ or higher for Excel),
Able to work hours as needed during peak times such as year-end, quarter-end, month-end, audits, etc.
