J.P. Morgan’s Global Research Center (GRC) in Mumbai was set up in August, 2003 as an extension of the Firm’s global equity research teams around the world. Besides working with JP Morgan’s equity research teams, the analysts and associates in GRC are now engaged with other areas of public side research including credit research, economics, strategy, credit derivatives and fixed income bond indices.
The Research Analytics & Data group is responsible for the production and management of analytics data, tools, and infrastructure that support our Research platform and all areas of the Emerging Markets Fixed Income business.
We are looking for a candidate with a natural aptitude for fixed income markets, instrument analytics, and is passionate about data workflows and analysis. Individuals with prior experience in investment banking technology or market data services, preferably with a track record in fixed income analysis, analytical reasoning, and regularly delivering under tight deadlines are encouraged to apply. The individual will take ownership of the analytics platform and function as the primary point of contact in the time zone. Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical.
Responsibilities
Market focus and Data Engineering:
• Coordinate and track the onboarding of new issues to our analytics coverage. Analyze market events and the likely impact on our data offering
• Maintain engagement with analytics clients on questions and enhancements to the data products. Act as a liaison to the commercialization team to ensure our offering and strategy aligns.
• Assist in Index product development process through partnership with index strategist, technology, operations and data vendors.
• Collaborate with existing subject matter experts and product owners in the task of data cataloguing, tagging, and establishing cleaning and ETL processes
Operations:
• Maintain security reference data and assist with migration to a centralized data repository
• Coordinating with operations support on a daily and monthly basis to ensure quality in the production of daily reports and fixed income analytics
• Act as the subject matter expert for reported calculation inaccuracies or system issues
• Coordinate with internal teams (back office operations, technology, front-office business lines etc.) to resolve operational issues with analytics production
Essential Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
• Credible understanding of financial market products. Knowledge/ experience in fixed income a plus
• Experience in Python, R or any other programing language. Experience with SQL and databases
• Problem-solving ability and general understanding of statistics
• Solid written and verbal communication skills; Detailed Oriented
• Bachelors degree preferably in Finance, Technology, or related disciplines
Desirable Skills / Experience (optional)
• Practical experience with J.P. Morgan analytical tools and operational infrastructure
• Familiarity with Market Data platforms such as Bloomberg, Reuters
• CFA level 1 or 2 would be an added advantage
