The Health & Well-being Specialist will work on the Health Services team in Colleague Total Rewards and Well-being (CTRW). As a key team member, this person will contribute to the overall goal of creating a culture of health for colleagues and their families at American Express. The ideal candidate must have public health; well-being work experience. S/he is expected to work with various teams and support a number of strategic & operational COVID-related initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
Serve as the primary resource for clinical support on all aspects of COVID-related tasks:
Collaboration; support & integration across COVID initiatives (case management, testing, contact tracing, dashboards, etc.)
Organize, track, and report on COVID related information
Compile statistics, conduct research, and update records
Update team on testing protocols to enhance guidelines or to meet compliance requirements from health departments and other agencies
Assists team in providing leadership with regular updates to facilitate risk mitigation, emergency preparedness, crisis intervention, and evaluation of corresponding data
Work closely with various team members on COVID-19 issues to plan, prioritize, and adjust protocols related to vaccinations, testing and all related activities.
Alignment on data; reporting; matrix across markets (for medical & / or H&W); at regional level & with global teams as needed.
Assist in providing insight on the design of our colleague health and well-being programs
Participate in calls from health departments and other agencies to stay up-to-date with local information and modify protocols as needed
Support Regional Medical Director & various market medical / other teams in delivering great colleague experience, collaborating – reporting to appropriate market / regional / global stakeholders focusing on business deliverables
Collaborate in the planning and preparation of written communications and presentations, and keeping communications on the Square (intranet) updated
Support the Healthy Living teams with the creation of health and well-being campaigns and events:
Partnering closely with vendors to create and coordinate impactful events
Comms and logistics
Ownership of the wellness calendar
Keep track of the team budget forecast and spend, including processing payments and working alongside finance teams
Alignment on data; reporting; matrix across markets (for medical & / or H&W); at regional level & with global teams as needed
Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, health administration, nursing, or related health field.
Prefer 2 to 3 years’ experience in program management in a health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must demonstrate discretion and good judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information
Demonstrate the ability to link clinical data to key messaging
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent writing and communication skills
Strong project planning
A self-starter with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task while working under tight timelines
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to perform detailed analysis of problems and identify resolutions; understands when and how to escalate issues to manage risk
Able to thrive in a global and virtual work environment where teams may be spread amongst multiple locations
High proficiency in data management and analysis a must, including MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
