FX International Payments (FX IP) is a core business activity and revenue driver for Foreign Exchange Services. The Operations function is responsible for the efficient and effective management of processing and servicing related to client account, transactional and trade activities throughout the client and product lifecycle. This individual will work within a global team and alongside key internal stakeholders to ensure all assigned tasks and responsibilities are conducted in a timely manner.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
Act as primary contact for all queries related to FX trades and Bank account reconciliation.
Extract bank statements from multiple proprietary platforms.
Prepare various business and compliance reports based on FXOPS system and the counterparty proprietary systems such as Balance Report, monthly Bank charges, Counterparty Funding etc.
Identify and investigate trade discrepancies between two data sources and resolve the discrepancies with global FXIP traders and counterparty banks in a timely manner.
Monitor and validate all FX trades conducted by the global FXIP traders and ensure they are confirmed before the cut-off time to facilitate a timely settlement of funds.
Initiate counterparty payments and book-transfers for the settlement of FX trades.
Maintain and manage the health of the FXIP nostro accounts across multiple location by ensuring the accounts are properly funded and are not overdrawn.
Perform first and second level General ledger account reconciliation, and resolve any discrepancies within the stipulated timeframes stated in our policy.
Assist any queries from all internal stakeholders, including the Global Account Reconciliation (GAR) team or the Internal Audit Group (IAG).
Manage and execute ad-hoc requests from the FXIP Leadership Team.
Do root cause analysis for any process breakdown / exceptions & assist to resolve and fix the causes for the same.
Graduate/Post Graduate with relevant experience (1-3 yrs of work experience preferably in the Banking sector).
Ability to develop and leverage relationship with people from the different parts of the business.
Strong time management and organization skills to prioritize work according to requirement.
Excellent influencing/communication skills and should be able to convey all important data to the internal stakeholders.
Strong numeracy and analytical skills to manage large amount of data across multiple reports.
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to conceptualize changes.
Must be able to work flexible hours to support the different FX IP locations.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and perform vlookups, pivot tables, etc.
Knowledge of systems like – Oracle, IRIS. Knowledge of manual journal entries.
Experience with reconciliation and FX trade execution , confirmation , and settlement preferred.
Strong learner with the ability to learn while doing the job preferred
FX or AMEX FXIP business product knowledge strongly preferred.
