Responsibilities
Achieve results through harvesting the innovation of a diverse set of globally distributed highly technical employees, providing strategic direction supported by day-to-day leadership and applying rigorous performance/talent management processes. Manage vendor performance which includes managed service for data centers located in NA, technology providers for LAN capabilities, cabling firms, and global Feet on the Street provider Develop and maintain multiyear strategic roadmaps for LAN capabilities which includes IOS version upgrades, hardware replacement, transition to cloud (IaaS, SaaS, SASE) standard harden configurations, and capability enhancements to ensure AFI is aligning and maximizing investment value while keeping capabilities functionally current. Capabilities include Software defined Networking, Switching, packet broker, Wireless LAN, DNS/DHCP/NTP . Full product lifecycle management for domain capabilities from design/build through operational execution to end of life (PDLC/SDLC) Minimize cost of ownership while delivering highly available services through domain financial management and optimizing resource utilization through effective resource forecasting Responsible for development and operation (“DevOps”) including alerts/monitoring, capacity planning, change execution, automation, security & control, Root Cause resolution Meet compliance and controls requirements and participate in audits as well as filling and maintaining exceptions for domain capabilities Create the automations, run books and training to enable first response operations to address 70% plus of incidents and standard service requests Plan and implement a resource strategy (internal vs. vendor) based on business need, scope of work, cost, and skill requirements. Foster a collaborative, success-oriented team environment where resources are empowered and accountable. Collaborate with technology leadership to understand and translate business strategy into technology strategy. Provide cost and feasibility analytics to support and gain strategy approval. Ensure that technology delivery solutions meet business requirements and expectations regarding cost, schedule and scope. Drive and deliver operational excellence through efficient use of resources/schedules, optimization of service level agreements (SLAs), problem monitoring and resolution, and effective change management techniques. Strategically plan and prioritize key deliverables within planned project schedules based on enterprise business strategy, business and technology needs and overall organizational impact. Ensure projects are validated, adhere to defined standards/processes and that ongoing improvements align with IT Information Library (ITIL) principles and technology Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methods.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field; or equivalent work experience. 15+ years experience of increasing responsibility in the delivery and operations of network products/services such as Switching, Wireless LAN, IPAM, packet brokering, routing, SDN… 10+ years of leadership experience, including demonstrated success in leading globally distributed technical teams and executing technical projects within a quality management framework. 5+ years of experience in successfully managing budgets (departmental and/or project). Highly effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to deliver technical information to non-technical audiences. Deploying and updating capabilities utilizing automation
Preferred Qualifications
Experience participating in the financial planning process (departmental and/or project). Experience in delivering technical solutions through both vendor/contractor and employee resources. Expert knowledge of Infoblox (IPAM) Expert Knowledge of device security hardening standards Executing in a DevOps model Migration of data center functions to cloud Indepth knowlede of NetMRI Proven experience with Cisco switching for offices and data centers AWS network managment
