Summary of the role
Airlines R&D and Commercial organization is responsible for the development and delivery of state of the art solutions which includes – Airline Inventory, Ticketing, Revenue Accounting and Revenue Management products. These cloud based solutions / product are used by Airlines for their day-to-day operations. Amadeus has built a very strong multiyear roadmap for each of these products and solutions that includes functional as well as technical enhancements.
At Amadeus Labs Bangalore, Business and Engineering team works in the definition, development and launch of critical roadmap features. To continue in this journey we are looking for smart, flexible, and world-class Product Managers to works very closely with global teams (R&D, Business, Sales & Marketing) in evolving and shaping our products and solutions (Amadeus Service Centre Agent / Reservation Desktop, Airline Revenue Accounting and Revenue Integrity) for the end customers – the Airlines.
The Business Analyst will be part of an effective best-in-class Product Manager team, responsible for articulating and managing the product functionality from customer business requirements to user acceptance. He or she will strive for a consultative approach, orchestrate the best adapted solutions and portfolio helping the airline financial leaders to succeed. The ideal candidate will have high motivation, strong business acumen and industry experience, innovative mindset and essential team spirit to ensure constructive collaborations with all stakeholders, both internally as well as with our airline customers and the airline industry representatives
Your main responsibilities
Identify opportunities
Identify, analyze and assess business requirements from customers and prospects.
Benchmark other business needs.
Give input to the product plan/Roadmap & long-term plan.
Consolidate and articulate business needs into new product concepts or upgrades.
Formalize requirements (scoping)
Propose solutions to the customer aligning with Amadeus business needs.
Assess potential gaps between customer requirements and Amadeus solutions.
Write a high-level business requirement and/or document detailed requirements and epics and/or user stories.
Agile Product Management / Business Owner activities
Define the product vision & the business value in line with the business owners, the product owners & agile teams
Embark customers & Amadeus teams on product vision, share product knowledge and ensure mutual understanding of the business
Maximize the agile team outcome: translate requirements into epics and/or user stories, prioritize them and validate their delivery
Maintain high levels of professionalism, proactive communication, remain positive and embrace change
Follow up customer satisfaction
Provide support and assistance to customer
Monitor product acceptance, product performance and satisfaction
Take corrective action as necessary
Promote the product
Provide key information on the product to define the Value proposition
Contribute to the launch plan with Product Marketing and other associated teams & Bus.
Work with Product Marketing on strategy, pricing and product descriptions
Share content for product documentation, sales tools and collateral.
Create standard and tailor-made presentations, and demo scripts showing product value.
Give presentations, demos and familiarization sessions to customer, or train Sales to perform them.
Ensures all training materials, implementation guidelines are up-to-date to ensure smooth adoption
Participate to the preparation of key events, guaranteeing the success of product launch and follow up.
Contribute to RFP/RFI for the product
Requirement Analysis
Review high level business requirements from Product Owner and identify any common needs with other customers, if required.
Understand defined user story/ design from product owner and translate it to functionality. Review user story meets all customer requirements. Create a functional specification document.
Modify/ update functional specifications through iterative discussions with Development team/ product owner through the course of product development.
Review and validate fulfillment of functional requirements (outlined in CR/IR) in the design documents created by Development team.
Guide development team through the course of product development to ensure adherence to functional requirements
Testing
Share functional specifications with QA team.
Review test cases/ test scripts developed during the end to end stage testing stage and test results to ensure alignment to functional requirements.
Conduct functional testing and identify reasons for breakdowns.
Validate issues raised by QA and discuss with developers.
Provide inputs to release manager for creating release notes
Support UAT testing to ensure that functional requirements are met
About the ideal candidate
8 – 10 years of experience in software development
Extensive experience in Business Analysis
Mandatory to have extensive Travel Domain knowledge and experience
Good understanding of Project Life cycle and SDLC Models
Good Documentation skills
Problem solving skills and learning attitude
Good communication, analytical and presentation skills
Inclined towards innovation
Conduct technical trainings for team. Keep track of deliverables from team, resolve technical/ operational issues faced by the team.
Promote team to share knowledge through share point.
Conduct technical interviews.
Engage with team. Resolve conflicts within the team
