The Accounting Specialist is the professional responsible for ensuring that the company’s accounting, reporting, and financial management functions correctly and effectively, thus enabling the company to achieve its objectives (financial, economic, and management).
This is an important role in the administration, finance, and accounting department. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of the operations of the finance function, coordinating staff such as accountants and management control staff, and working closely with the CFO and company management to provide data and support in planning activities.
The main tasks of an Accounting Specialist are:
Coordinating management control activities;
Analysing processes and defining management control procedures;
Measuring the performance and assessing the efficiency of accounting, reporting and the internal controlling system;
Ensuring compliance of transactions with accounting principles;
Collaborating in the definition of the expenditure budget;
Preparation of forecasts;
Monitoring and evaluating business performance and cost controlling of the various business areas;
Analysing deviations of budget items from planned financial and economic targets;
Prepare periodic reports;
Supporting the CFO in strategic planning activities;
Drawing up proposals for the development of the accounting and administrative area;
Advising management on accounting, financial, and tax matters.
The main skills to be possessed or acquired are:
Must be fluent in English;
Must have bachelor’s degree;
Knowledge of management control principles and methods;
Sound knowledge of business economics, accounting, budgeting, and budget analysis;
