Job summary
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to help automate next generation platforms. In this role you will work with QA engineers, software developers and SDM’s to implement test automation and infrastructure development for our applications and platforms which have a significant impact on our systems, our business and most importantly, our customers.
We would be leveraging a common automation infrastructure and implementing the correct integration hooks and testcases to ensure we’re raising the bar on quality across our products.
We need to adhere to strict guidelines for quality, customer experience, performance, and latency. All of these constraints provide unique challenges to the team. We are looking for a self-motivated and highly technical SDET to join our team to help us achieve the mission of consistent and reliable automation coverage across multiple products and platform and release high quality feature simultaneously to our customers.
Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer in Test on this team, you will be leading test automation and infrastructure development, test new design and architectural choices which have a significant impact on our systems, our business and most importantly, our customers. You will be working directly with Developers, QA Engineers and Software development Managers to ensure quality development and quality of our applications and platforms
About the team
Amazon Tablet Engineering team in Chennai is responsible for many of the system applications, Alexa integration, Universal Search, Onboarding, Maps and several other functions of the Fire Tablets. Work spans across Android development on Java/Kotlin, building services, extensive use of AWS, Web applications, and a touch of Deep Learning. You get to work with highly capable engineers on hard problems to make it exciting for our customers to use Fire Tablets. The Pandemic has created several new interesting use-cases for Tablets and that makes it the best time to be part of this exciting space.
