CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary freight management
For empanelled primary freight service providers, lead ongoing contract management, periodically reset freight rates, manage share of business, process payments and resolve operational issues. Manage primary freight KPIs – placement service level, delivery service levels, lead time adherence, and cost per ton per km Conduct ongoing performance evaluation of primary freight service providers against the above KPIs and take corrective actions Benchmark freight rates of company with other organisations within/across industries and identify improvement areas Identify and empanel new carriers through market intelligence and through RFI (Request for Information) Co-ordinate with C&FAs, regional logistics, primary freight service providers for lodging insurance claims in case of in-transit damages and shortages and timely submission of claim related documents Follow-up with insurance companies for settlement of claims as per specified timelines and maintain MIS related to the same
Management of distribution promotional inputs
Manage delivery of POSM (marketing inputs, promotional materials, samples) to field force as per agreed delivery service levels Work with the marketing and indirect purchase teams to ensure availability of promo materials per the agreed allocation cycle Work closely with service provider to ensure timely execution of the dispatch plans as per the agreed TAT Provide visibility to the sales and marketing teams of the connectivity status of the dispatches and resolve issues as and when required Conduct monthly operations reviews with the service provider and courier agencies Ensure operational and cost efficiencies through load consolidation, packaging optimization etc.
Inventory accuracy and hygiene
Responsible for inventory accuracy of finished goods, samples and promo materials by conducting and/or supporting internal as well as third party inventory audits for POSM hubs as well as 2 FG hubs Prepare write-off notes and pass inventory correction entries in SAP after obtaining requisite approvals as per the company policy Review status of slow and non-moving FG and POSM inventory in the entire system on a monthly basis and follow-up with distribution planning/ regional logistics/ marketing teams to take timely action to liquidate the same Co-ordinate with regional logistics team on a monthly basis to carry out the destruction of damaged, defective and expired stocks, maintain records and update the system Drive statutory and quality compliance at the Hubs and C&FAs working with Planning, regional logistics and QA teams
Imports, Exports and Compliance
Manage the import and export clearance for affiliate business Manage the costs and performance of Customs House Agents and ensure compliance to all regulations and policies. Minimise detention & demurrage of containers of imported products.
Cross-functional projects
Provide project management support to logistics team at HO/ region for ensuring smooth warehouse/ C&FA transitions or opening of new C&FAs Work closely with ANSC, regional logistics, QA, marketing and NPI on key projects pertaining to transportation, packaging, costs, quality etc.
