Within the scope of the Materials & Processes (M&P) engineering for Metal Technology, Our mission is to deliver metallic technologies from research to in-service and to make innovative materials fly. Details:
Your job is to develop materials and manufacturing processes together with our material suppliers and create the relevant specifications and standards. In this context, you support the definition of Additive Metal Technology strategy, principles and concepts. You ensure the material availability and safety with the technical qualification process and master difficult requirements in a challenging environment.
Job scope:
The detailed responsibilities will be:
To develop and harmonize mature and robust materials and process specifications for Additive technologies.
To optimize various process parameters via simulation and data analysis especially for DED (Direct Energy Deposition) and Powder Bed Deposition techniques.
You define, specify and validate manufacturing processes to ensure correct mature materials and manufacturing.
To provide your metal technology expertise towards Programs, CoE, Procurement, Quality, Customer Service and projects (plateau, Multifunctional Teams) during aircraft development and service.
To evaluate material related deviations from definition documents and support failure analysis for test cell, manufacturing and in service issues.
To oversee the complete material value chain from materials origin until recycling. It is a great chance to grow in an excited team, providing you with ideal opportunities for an extended career in a dynamic environment.
Practise project management by providing weekly/monthly reports, schedule, risk mitigation & monitoring the qualification activities.
Actively participate and contribute to clean sky and other environment initiatives driven by Airbus.
Adhere to Airbus procedures, process, and ways of working and develop self as an M&P Engineer.
Required Domain Expertise:
Graduate/Post Graduate Engineer (Metallurgy/Mechanical/Materials Engineering/Aerospace Engineering) with 5 to 8 yrs of experience in Metal Technology specific to Additive manufacturing such as in Design, Simulation, Material selection and process optimization.
Tools – Abacus, Design for AM, Data analysis.
Experience: 5 to 8 yrs.
Required Technical Expertise:
In-Depth knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies, design for additive manufacturing, exposure for metallic materials and its implementation as product, material assessment, prepare test plans, analysis of test results. Exposure to various statistical analysis and interpretations of test results, failure reports etc. Exposure to material testing such as mechanical – tensile, fatigue, crack propagation. Exposure to various manufacturing processes such casting, forging technologies and aerospace materials is desirable.
Overall Knowledge of Airbus Material and products would be added advantage. Knowledge of & International Standards like SAE, ASTM, ISO, BS etc. Exposure to Materials and Processes used in aerospace industry. Technical Documentation (MS office tools, Project management tools, etc.).
Strong stakeholder management, liaising with internal and external customers, interactions with test laboratories and research centres. Good communication and presentation skills along with project management basics would be an added advantage
