Roles and Responsibilities
Technical Support Specialist, based in Mumbai office, to provide support to technical and admin staff across Americas/Europe/Middle East and APAC. Responsible for software support, maintaining, advancing and securing IT support
we offers independent consultancy services to the offshore energy (oil & gas and renewables), shipping and insurance industries. The group employs specialist engineers, naval architects, master mariners, loss adjusters and technical consultants in 33 countries worldwide. 450 employees where of 12 based in Mumbai, India.
Our IT systems are based on a highly scalable cloud infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure with Office 365. Microsoft Teams will be used as our primary communications and telephony solution as we migrate from existing legacy PBX systems. IT management is lead from HQ in in London, with additional support available in the APAC and Americas regions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues
Installs, fully configures, and supports Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup, user desktops / laptops, system and network configuration, both remote and local
Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem
Track computer system issues through to resolution
Provide technical and training to customer upon setup completion.
Talk staff through a series of actions, either via phone, email or chat, until they’ve solved a technical issue
Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams
Provide prompt and accurate feedback to staff
Prioritise and manage several open issues at one time
Accomplish all other tasks as reasonably assigned or requested by management
Windows Operating Systems to advanced level
Deployment of laptops and mobile phones for staff
Strong understanding of network permissions and security
Strong understanding and working knowledge of Active
Directory, AADDS, AAD, group policy and domain controllers
Good knowledge of routers, firewalls, switches, VPN devices
and wireless technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS & DHCP
Server administration
Understanding of backup and restoration methods
Natural interest in IT with desire to keep up with latest
technologies
Good understanding of AV technologies and their
configuration and administration
Experience managing Sharepoint online
Experience from Microsoft Flow / Power Automate
