Principal DevOps Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Act as Technical lead to a team of Developers. Provide guidance, mentorship and leadershipPerform root cause analysis for complex problems. Provide recommendations and build consensusParticipate in design and code reviews to stress concepts of monitorability, resiliency, auto-recovery,
and anti-fragile design
Quickly diagnose production issues, document designs and procedures, scaling the infrastructure to
meet demands and proactively ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability,
while participating in on-call rotation
Build, automate and deploy complex new infrastructure and applications in coordination with the
managed service provider
Maintain security controls and work in close cooperation with Information Security teams on
protecting the franchise.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree from accredited institution and minimum 4-6 years’ of experience
supporting Linux (RHEL) and/or Windows systems. In lieu of a degree, certifications or experience will be
considered
experience in deploying 3 tier application, with JBOSS, Tomcat, Apache and similarBasic understanding of networking technologies: TCP/IP stack, IP addressing, subnetting, CIDR, AWS
security group, stateful and stateless access-lists/firewall rules
7+ years in a DevOps role2-3 years of AWS experienceAzure experience is a plusVMware / Virtualization Technologies/Private Cloud technologies is a plusIntermediate Load Balancing technologies: AWS NLB/ALB/ELB, F5 LTM, HAProxy, Nginx or similarIntermediate Understanding of DNS: BIND, Unbound, AWS Route53 or similarKnowledge of Docker, AWS ECS, Fargate and Kubernetes is a plusConfiguration Management and Orchestration Software: Saltstack, Terraform, Packer. Chef or Ansible
is a plus
Experience with scripting languages: Bash, Python, PowershellStrong problem management skills, including the ability to identify and asses the risks and determine
corrective actions.
Certifications or Other Professional Credentials:
AWS Certifications preferredLinux Certifications preferredDetail oriented with ability to document changes and update runbooks, troubleshooting, support
documents
