Job Purpose
Responsible for managing logistics operations on the market side for 2 out of the 4 sales regions (North & West). Accountable for delivering committed service levels, stakeholder management, 3PL management and warehousing & transportation in the defined geography.
Key Responsibilities
Accountable for service delivery of warehouses and transporters in the geography
Responsible for setting warehousing & transportation KPI targets and holding the 3PLs accountable to the same. Drive standardization across all warehouses.
Work closely with the regional sales teams as the Supply Chain SPOC and help mitigate demand-supply imbalances through dispatch prioritization, stock reservation and pro-active planning
Provide timely inputs to the distribution planner to minimize stock-outs and ensure the right level of inventory is maintained at the warehouses to ensure high customer service delivery
Manage SLOB/Aging inventory through timely interventions and escalations to the sales teams
Responsible for upgrading the warehousing infrastructure and create future plans for warehouse footprint and space enhancement basis the local route-to-market strategy and growth forecasts
Drive a quality and safety mindset amongst team members and LSPs while ensuring compliance to all Mars QMP and people safety standards in all our warehouses and during transportation of goods
Accountable for implementation of Good Warehousing Practices at our warehouses including inventory control, documentation and compliance to statutory, regulatory and legal requirements
Ensure satisfactory audit results. Action and close both quality and safety CAPA on a regular basis.
Responsible for managing logistics spend within budget limits for the region
Provide regular inputs for developing customer service level reports, logistics spend provisions, and other weekly/monthly MIS
Provide insights to the commercial team while renewing warehousing and transportation contracts
Drive SC initiatives in the local geography while continually improving productivity and cost efficiency
Provide guidance and support to warehouse managers while managing escalations and exceptions
Timely resolution of escalations from vendors related to their claims
Design and implement programs to drive engagement of warehousing teams
Context:
This role is an individual contributor role confined to a geography/sales region. The individual acts are the Supply Chain SPOC in the region and liaises with local warehousing and transportation service providers for issue resolution and ensuing high level of customer satisfaction. He/ She takes guidance from the Logistics Manager to manage escalations and takes support of the SC team members to mitigate supply risks and enhance customer satisfaction.
Education & Professional Qualifications
Graduate in any discipline from recognized university (full time course)
MBA degree is preferred
Knowledge / Experience
1 to 3 years of supply chain functional experience preferably in Food /FMCG/Pharma industry
Knowledge of MS Office (including MS Word , MS Power-point and MS Excel) essential
Working experience with SAP software is desirable
Good written and verbal communication skills are a must
